The room was cozy with a lovely atmosphere, and we enjoyed the great food quality. Really good cleanliness of the bar. Plus, they had a surprise kids coloring activity that kept little ones entertained for a bit. Definitely will be back!

We only stayed here for 2 nights, as we didn't have time, yet everything was really good. It was in a perfect location with a local history museum nearby. The restaurant was very nice and offered excellent dishes. Loved our time here.

Fantastic location with free parking right by the hotel. Our room was well cleaned, and the bed was super comfy. The staff were all really friendly, especially becky at reception and the lovely lady who served us dinner. Breakfast had loads of choices, nice. Great value for the price we paid.
The heating in our room was not working properly, and we had to ask for a fan heater. There were marks on the walls that seemed like they needed fixing.

Staff were very friendly, all the rooms were clean, comfortable, and recently referbished. Allocated double room when twin was requested, did the same when two friends booked in the following evening, although the error was soon rectified.

fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff!
As always in England, some structural aspects do not necessarily correspond to German habits.

We loved our spacious family room and the warm, inviting setting. The free parking was a bonus, and we enjoyed strolling around the charming village nearby, even with our dog tagging along.
My kids wished for a few more play options at the hotel.

This Hotel has easy access, plenty of parking, an all day restaurant and is right in the centre of a pleasant little town with a good range of shops. It is therefore from every aspect, very user friendly. Add to that the helpful and charming staff and you have most of the ingredients for a stress free stay.
We arrived on a Sunday to pick up a new car in nearby Basingstoke on the Monday. We didn't know Alton and simply chose the Hotel with the lowest Sunday night rate. Therefore, we didn't expect extreme luxury and nor did we get it, with a room that looked onto a wall. We had however asked for a quiet room so can't complain but had the weather been warmer, it would have been too stuffy. We felt the bathroom was only just acceptable. Grouting around bath and washbasin was tired and gave a slightly grubby feeling, there was no towel rail and the shower ran hot and cold.

Very confortable room, good shower and nice to see a comfy chair to watch tv from
Service very slow at breakfast so I missed eating a full english as I had to go to a meeting for 8am. I did not get my wake up call either. Other than that I would definatly stay again.

missingWrote a review on 17 Septcharming decorgood parkinghigh noise
Solid parking facilities at the back, with access even when busy. The historical décor adds a bit of charm to the setting.
High noise levels really took away from the experience. The soundproofing in the rooms left much to be desired, leading to disturbances from conversations and activities in adjacent areas. Finding the way from the car park to the reception was a bit convoluted, requiring an unplanned detour through the restaurant. Access to certain rooms involves navigating many steps and doors, not ideal if you're not traveling light. Lastly, breakfast left something to be desired as it gradually ran out of essentials like milk and coffee during busy mornings, requiring guests to ask multiple times.
